Newly-Landed Position + Company: VP, Data Product Management at LPL Financial

Prior to landing your new position, were you currently working or in transition? In-transition.

How did you get connected to the company where you landed your new role? My neighbor was AVP of HR.

What allowed you to stand out during the interview process? My depth of experience in both Product Management and Data.

Did you encounter any challenges while being vetted for this new position? I seemed to be skirting the “over-qualified” reason for exclusion. Not due to salary demands, but a perception that I might not find the position engaging enough.

If you could give an in-transition executive any piece of advice, what would it be? Networking is good, but don’t overlook direct applications even when you don’t know anyone. The majority of interest came from direct applications.
